Our students are well-prepared for a career in electrolysis. See what they say about their experiences at MEEC.

From the moment I asked my own electrologist about becoming licensed, I was told Eileen was working on opening MEEC, that she is wonderful and well worth the wait over attending a school in another state. Eileen delivered on those statements.

Being an electrologist is a physical skill as well as a mental one. You can’t get good at any skill until you build the muscles for it. MEEC provides a supportive environment with hands on instruction using real people to allow development of those skills.

At MEEC, you are trained as an individual. You are given the space to make decisions for yourself, just like you will need to do once you are in your own treatment room.

Eileen is available as a mentor for every student, well past graduation. She understands that learning and improving never stops. She leads by example through attending every lecture she can, and collaboration with so many other professionals in the industry.

Attending MEEC was the best decision I ever made and I will sing her praises to anyone who will listen.

I chose MEEC because it was the only program in the state! So thankful to have that convenience because I didn’t want to have to move out of state.

The program prepared me for the real world through each interaction with each client. No two clients are the same, so working with different personalities and a large variety of people really helped me to know how to tackle difficult cases in my professional career.

What stood out most to me was Ms. Eileen let us do our own thing once we understood the different modalities and had the flexibility to try different techniques. She was always around to answer questions and help us. This lead to building confidence and learning autonomy as a future professional in the field.

MEEC helped to build my career as a professional by having other electrologists in the area send out inquiries for hire throughout my time at the program, which helped to secure a job before gradation and eased the transition from student to licensed professional! My time spent there was absolutely worth it.

I was referred to MEEC by another Electrologist in the area who was professionally familiar with Eileen Collins. I could not be more grateful for her recommendation! From the start, Eileen has been welcoming and highly knowledgeable. I cannot emphasize enough how well Eileen has built MEEC and her Electrology program. She is prompt and constantly available when students need any help, whether they are in-person or working on the online portion of the program.

The structure of the program is extremely well put-together, with clear guidelines for completion in a timely manner. I would consider this program top-tier education for the field of Electrology. MEEC uses state of the art technology, is up-to-date on laws and regulations, and goes above and beyond to ensure health and safety standards. The program is so thorough that I felt confident and very prepared to step into real-world practice. I really enjoyed the combination of comprehensive lectures and real-world application. The program allows for students to work hands-on from the beginning, which accelerated my learning and capability of understanding the content more fully.

Additionally, Eileen fosters a lovely community of students. She is an incredible teacher, balancing the appropriate level of independence while never leaving students feeling under-supported. Meanwhile, she allows us to grow together and help one another. In my time at MEEC, I've never met a student who wasn't kind, cooperative, and excited to learn.

I've been constantly impressed by how hard Eileen works to provide a comprehensive education to all students, while remaining active in the Electrology community at the state and national level. She is a wealth of knowledge, and without her I most certainly would not be feeling nearly as confident as I am, as a graduate, to work professionally as an Electrologist.

I highly recommend the Maryland Electrolysis Education Center (MEEC) to anyone considering a career in electrology. As someone working full-time, I was so grateful for the welcoming and accommodating environment; the flexibility to complete the program on a part-time basis was a game-changer for me.

Eileen runs an incredible program rooted in deep knowledge and professionalism. Between the extensive student library and the significant amount of hands-on practical experience with clients, I felt fully prepared for licensure. I am embarking on my new career with total confidence, thanks to the ample learning opportunities and the constant encouragement provided along the way.

When I was researching electrolysis training programs, I chose MEEC over options that were cheaper and closer to home, because I wanted the best possible education. As a career changer, I also needed a program that fit with my existing commitments, and MEEC's flexibility made it possible to train while still working.

Eileen brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and a deep network of professional relationships to her teaching. I appreciated that the curriculum covered all three modalities and the underlying science, which gives me a depth of understanding not every program provides. I left with a foundation for lifelong learning rather than just a set of techniques.

This really mattered to me because I live in a state where electrolysis is unregulated. Without licensing requirements, the standard of care depends entirely on the commitment of individual practitioners. Eileen raises the bar for the profession, and being trained by her means I can hold myself to that same standard.

MEEC gave me the technical confidence and professional foundation to launch my practice and show up fully for my clients. I'm proud of the training I received, and I'd make the same choice again without hesitation.
